Hindawi Editors’ Articles - Environmental Pollution

In this month’s edition of Hindawi Editors’ Articles, we're looking at recent research tackling environmental pollution, from degrading chemicals dyes to the risks of sewage-polluted wastewater to chick embryos. All four articles were published in May and are co-authored by members of the Editor Community. 

  1. How can computational-based approaches be used to predict the removal of biochemical oxygen demand from wastewater under different adsorption conditions? A paper co-authored by Mahmoud Nasr tests the prediction accuracy of a quadratic regression model and artificial neural network.

  1. A recent article co-authored by Amjad Bashir reveals the serious implications that increasing wastewater pollution may have by demonstrating its effects on the development of chick embryos.

  1. In a study co-authored by Rabia Rehman, researchers tested the biosorption potential of two agricultural by-products to remove harmful cationic and basic dyes from wastewater.

  1. How does iron-doping of tin oxide nanoparticles affect their photocatalytic degradation of crystal violet dye? A research paper co-authored by Stefano Bellucci considers both dye degradation and antibacterial activity of SnO2 nanoparticles.
