Improving manuscripts with Writefull’s Structural Checks service

Published on June 16, 2022

Hindawi is now offering Writefull’s Structural Checks service to all authors, free of charge, as part of our manuscript submission system; this in addition to the Writefull Revise language check that we currently offer to authors.

How does it work?
The Structural Checks service uses Writefull’s Metadata API to verify whether a manuscript is complete by checking if author affiliations are present, references are cited in the text, and key sections are included. This helps ensure that all required information is submitted, and that important research does not get delayed or rejected due to easily resolvable issues.

How does this benefit editors?
In short, it helps speed up the peer review process. The structural checks help prevent delays in the initial screening process, so you can start working on manuscripts more quickly after they're submitted. Then once you have the manuscript, with the structural checks taken care of, you are free to focus solely on each manuscript’s research content.
